Why Hayley
Wrote This?
The internet is brimming with resources about building and maintaining confidence. I have read many of these publications throughout my corporate career. However, something was lacking. There was a disconnect between what
I was reading and what I was experiencing.
That’s when it hit me! I was reading and devouring material to help me navigate the corporate world and build confidence, but the information was not geared toward me ─ an African American woman.
I wanted to help and share with other women what assisted me on my confidence journey and what I learned over the years about how I could be my genuine authentic confident self.

Dedicated
To Mom.
My mother has always been my biggest cheerleader. She taught me to never accept “No” for an answer, where there was determination and will, there was a way! She never allowed the color of her skin to limit what she could do. During the process of writing this book, I lost my mom.
I am so glad I was able to share the cover of the book with her and experience the joy of her seeing her daughter’s name on the cover of a book. I am forever grateful for the lessons she taught me and for helping me to become the woman I am today.
Our Promise!
There may have been times in your career where you were not genuine and authentic and you felt like you were showing up how you were expected to show up, but it wasn’t who you truly wanted to be. Too many times you changed who you were to make other people in the room feel comfortable, only to find yourself uncomfortable.
This handbook will give you the support and confidence you need to be your genuine and authentic self, free from imposter syndrome and self-doubt. You will learn to take bold steps and be unafraid of success and accomplishment. Discovering who you are and how you want to show up
for yourself!
